Sample Lactose Free Recipe
Monte Cristo Sandwich
- 2 ounces of white turkey meat
- 2 ounces of alternative Swiss cheese or mozzarella cheese
- 2 ounces of cooked ham
- 4 slices of whole wheat bread (or challah bread)
- 4 eggs
- Dash of Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
In a shallow dish beat the eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla until well incorporated
Make the two sandwiches. Place a slice of bread on the bottom. Top with first turkey, then cheese, and finally ham. Place the second slice of bread on top of the sandwich.
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, and let it rest at least 1 minute before turning it and letting it stand for an additional minute.
Place sandwiches on a large electric griddle and cook well on both sides.
You can top the sandwiches with pure maple syrup.
You can make additional sandwiches by doubling or tripling the recipe.
